Church: Rev To Go, Hall To Stay

After five years as Vicar of St Luke’s, Alan Kilpatrick will be leaving in August for a new ministry in Cape Town. Alan’s going a lot further than his predecessor, who memorably told the Prestonville Post that God had called him to Basingstoke. (We got on Radio 4’s News Quiz with that.)

While the parish will be getting a new vicar, Peter Woodhead of the Parochial Church Committee assures us that they hope to maintain the Church Hall in Exeter Street for the use of the community. ‘I think we’re reasonably secure for the time being,’ he says.
