I hear on the grapevine this has been acquired by the owners of The Foragers gastropub in Hove. Anyone know if that’s true?

I don’t think so, but it’s well on the way to being done up and re-opened….

We used to have a real problem down Highcroft with wing mirrors being pulled off. I lost 2 my neighbour 3 and my other neighbour 1. It always happened on Friday and Saturday nights. Since the Dyke shut down I haven’t seen a single smashed mirror.
I really hope it’s going to be a nice pub!
First impressions good: Timothy Taylor’s Landlord very nice!
I’m very disappointed. The building has been developed nicely but the atmosphere is utterly grating – full of pretentious people posturing! The food is over-priced and of a very poor quality, the staff on not professional waiting staff (although very sweet) and therefore cannot manage to get an order right! There is no pub atmosphere so yet again if you want just a quiet drink and a chat, forget it!
Couldn’t agree less! Had two great meals – oxtail papardelle and ribeye steak – and both were lovely. My friend is gluten free and had to ask the waitress to find out all kinds of things – she handled it no problem.
I think the atmosphere is conducive to chatting and having a laugh. The garden is great and somewhere you can actually take the kids around here.
If you want a quiet drink somewhere then I do think the Prestonville caters for that. I’m pro Dyke! (if you know what I mean…)
